So it's been 50 short years since high school graduation. I came to a previous reunion and realized that there truly were not a bunch of my classmates trying to get in touch. It was a two day event. I recall but did not partake in the 'dance' they setup in the old Munsingwear building. The food was fine.
I was never very popular, not a jock, didn't get great grades, had trouble with assignments and as such so you probably don't remember me. I tried college a couple of times, pretended to be a hippy, endured a series of horrible jobs and multiple marriages. Finally I pulled it together and spent 33 years at a great company that allowed me to retire comfortably.
Life has been very interesting. I've lost a bunch of old friends and made many new ones along the way. I realized that the twin cities was getting too crowded so I moved to Bayfield where I started sailing and continued driving the old Harley. I'm currently watching a small blizzard outside our living room. When the wind gusts, it seems like we're living in a giant snow globe. I always said if I made it 50 years, I'll return for a second reunion. Hope to see you this summer.

Rick,
Yes, I remember you. A few of us would pile into your Mustang convertible and cruise around Lake Harriet and harass 'parkers' by throwing water balloons and stuff at them. I also recall listening to the song 'Louie-Louie' and trying to figure out the words. My wife and I recently moved to Florida from Wisconsin. I worked at 3M and retired after 38 years. I have the right 'Rick' don't I.
Rick
I remember you fondly from grade school. Always thought you were smart, clever, insightful and fun to be around. You would drive Mr. Davis to the brink with your questions. I really hope you come to the reunion. We have all grown older, hopefully wiser and appreciate the experiences we shared.
If you don’t attend, know you were thought of by many of us Cahill kids.
Thanks for the update on where life has taken you. I didn't realize you had left Edina. My brother Rick lives in West Bloomington still and I occasionally drive by the old neighborhood and your old house when visiting. I visited your mom a few times over the years until she passed. My mom and dad have now both passed also. Hard to believe...
I have many fond memories of us growing up together on good old Mildred Ave. I especially remember the many hours in your basement doing chemistry experiments and building Erector Set projects, etc. I know we drove your mom crazy, but the experience and interests lasted a lifetime and it all eventually led me to medicine, computers, etc.
It sounds like you graduated from that little Yamaha to a Harley! I wish I still had my little Honda Super Sport! For me now, it's solar and electric everything, including Tesla, e-scooters, e-bikes and even the all solar house!
I've been based in San Diego for about 40 years, except for short stints in many places all over the world with the Navy. I've been in private practice since I retired from the Navy and still practice part time.
Anyway, I hope to see you at the reunion. We plan on driving the Tesla for a 2,000 miles road trip, which will be a fun adventure.
Didn't we work together at Red's Pure Oil on 70th? You were really good with cars as I remember and I learned a lot working there. Red Halley, God rest his soul, was a piece of work though....
